
Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov took part in the 16th Annual Conference of Prosecutors General of the Member States of the European Union (NADAL), which was held in the Hungarian capital Budapest. 25 Prosecutors General participated in the forum, which was opened in the Hungarian Parliament. Representatives of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, the European Commission, Eurojust, the European Judicial Training Network and the International Association of Prosecutors also participated in the event.
The Hungarian Prosecutor's Office is hosting the annual meeting of the Network of Heads of Prosecutor's Offices and Equivalent Institutions of the Supreme Courts of the EU Member States for the second time. Borislav Sarafov congratulated the host of the forum - the Prosecutor General of Hungary, Dr. Péter Polt, who is about to continue his legal career as a judge at the Constitutional Court of the country.
The three panels at the Budapest conference focused on countering crimes committed online, digital transition of the judicial system and international cooperation in combating environmental crimes.
Within the framework of the forum, Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov held a working meeting with his Spanish counterpart Álvaro García Ortiz, at which they discussed issues of mutual interest. Sarafov gave high credits to the lecturers from the Spanish Prosecutor's Office, who a few days ago presented good practices in the fight against cybercrime to Bulgarian prosecutors and investigators in Sofia.
The participants in the 16th Annual Meeting of Prosecutors General of the EU Member States emphasized the essential role that prosecutors' offices play in upholding the rule of law in the European community.
