Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria is hosting the 4th Forum of the Prosecutor’s General of the Balkan States, which will take place in Sofia on 5th 6th and 7th October 2025.
The Forum brings together the heads of Prosecution Offices from South-Eastern Europe and partner institutions from the European Union at the highest level. It is held at the initiative of the Prosecutors General of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Türkiye. The first event was held in 2019 in Izmir. Sofia is hosting the Forum for the second time, which aims to maintain stable partnership and interaction between the Prosecutors' Offices of the Balkan States on criminal law matters, the fight against cross-border organized crime, illegal migration, etc.
The topics that will be discussed at the 4th Forum of Prosecutors General of the Balkan States in Sofia focus on countering terrorism and drug trafficking, the investigation of crimes committed in a digital environment with cryptocurrencies and strengthening cooperation with third countries to counter transnational crime in the Balkan region.
