Burgas Regional Prosecutor's Office referred the matters on its own initiative of the occasion on publications containing information about an act of vandalism against the Monument to the Rescuers of Burgas Jews. According to media reports, the perpetrators placed stickers on the monument, covering the inscriptions, trampling on its message and the memory of the rescuers.
A file was opened on the case, based on which employees of the Burgas Regional Office of the Ministry of Interior will conduct an inspection.
During the inspection, operational and investigative measures will be carried out to identify the perpetrators. It will be determined whether there are any video recordings relevant to the case, as well as witnesses.
