Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Borislav Sarafov is on a working visit to the Kingdom of Spain. The visit is in the context of the Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding between the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Kingdom of Spain, signed in February 2025 in Sofia during the visit of the Spanish Prosecutor General Álvaro García Ortiz to our country.
In Madrid, Borislav Sarafov and Álvaro García Ortiz discussed upcoming trainings for Bulgarian prosecutors and investigators. Conducting of a training in Bulgaria on the topic of Collection of electronic evidence with Spanish lecturers in May 2025 was discussed.
Sarafov emphasized the need to increase the expertise of Bulgarian magistrates in countering cybercrime, cross-border organized crime and money laundering, as the Spanish Prosecutor's Office has extensive practical experience in these areas.
Borislav Sarafov and Álvaro García Ortiz once again emphasized the high level of cooperation between the Bulgarian and Spanish Prosecutors' Offices, including on joint investigations.
