At a coordination meeting under Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov were discussed the actions of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Interior, the SANS and the National Security Service to prevent antisocial acts

Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov held a meeting at the Palace of Justice in Sofia with the participation of the Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov, the Chairman of SANS Plamen Tonchev and the Head of the National Security Service Emil Tonev. On the part of the Ministry of  Interior also participated the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Miroslav Rashkov, the Director of the General Directorate "Gendarmerie, Special Operations and Combating Terrorism", Chief Commissioner Nikolay Nikolov and the Director of  Sofia metropolitan police directorate, Chief Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov.

The information gathered by the authorities of the Ministry of the Interior, the security services and the Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the vandal attack on the building of the European Commission and the European Parliament in the capital on 22 February 2025, in which police officers were injured, was analyzed.

Borislav Sarafov stressed that the Prosecutor’s Office will seek criminal responsibility from all persons - participants in the violation of public order. With regard to those who enjoy immunity and for whom evidence has been gathered that they are perpetrators of crimes, immediate steps will be taken to request the relevant state authorities to secure permission to hold them criminally liable.

During the coordination meeting specific measures were identified which the law enforcement institutions should immediately undertake to prevent such antisocial acts aimed at destabilization and contrary to the rule of law.

Minister Mitov assured that the structures of the Ministry of Interior are prepared to apply the full rigor of the law to prevent further vandalism in the center of the capital.
