The Prosecutor's Office held a working meeting with OSCE representatives in conjuction with the upcoming elections for the 52nd National Assembly

Today, 17th March 2026, the Deputy Prosecutor General at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office (SCPO) Vanya Stefanova and Prosecutor Iliyan Rangelov, Head of the Specialized Department at the SCPO, held a working meeting with representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission in connection with the holding of the elections for the 52nd National Assembly, scheduled for 19th  April 2026.

On the OSCE side, the meeting was attended by David Gongadze, Legal Analyst with the Election Observation Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Jelena Stefanovic - political analyst, and Dragomira Paunova, Senior Assistant to the Legal Analyst.

Deputy Prosecutor General Vanya Stefanova told the mission representatives about the organization that the Prosecutor's Office has created for the conduct of the elections and its commitment to active interaction between the institutions in accordance with their powers in order to guarantee fair and transparent elections.

The OSCE representatives were informed that the Prosecutor's Office has already held a working meeting with the CEC, the Ministry of Interior and the State Agency for National Security on the joint actions to ensure lawful parliamentary elections and to prevent and counteract electoral violations and attempts to taint the vote of Bulgarian citizens.
