Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov is on a working visit to the Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, to participate in the 18th Meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the Member States of the European Union. The forum is being held at the headquarters of Eurojust and will be opened by the President of Eurojust, Ladislav Hamran.
The focus of this year's meeting is placed on the international cooperation in the implementation of measures to trace and confiscate property acquired through criminal offence. The subject of discussions will be the functioning of the common initiative of the EU countries to combat organized crime and the possibility of transferring criminal proceedings between the member states. In accordance with the forum’s program the challenges of combating crimes against intellectual property committed in cyberspace, including through the use of AI will be debated.
The Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the Member States of the European Union functions within Eurojust, the purpose of which is the coordination of investigations and prosecutions and cooperation between the competent authorities of the Member States in relation to serious cross-border and organized crime.
