Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov participated in the 15th Conference of the Network of Public Prosecutors or equivalent institutions at the Supreme Judicial Courts of the Member States of the European Union NADAL. This year the prestigious forum was hosted by the Prosecutor General of Luxembourg Martine Solovieff.

In his speech, Borislav Sarafov highlighted the role of NADAL Network for more efficient justice, for upholding common European values and for effective implementation of EU law. “Fundamental to achieve these goals is our daily work at national level, responsibility, striving for even higher results and persistence, which guarantee independence of the judicial system in general and of the prosecutors in particular”, said Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. "The protection of EU funds in Bulgaria is an extremely important priority in the work of all institutions in the country", emphasized Acting Prosecutor General.
In Luxembourg, Borislav Sarafov spoke with his Spanish colleague Alvaro García Ortiz, who is to visit Bulgaria during autumn in response to the visit of the Bulgarian Prosecutor General to Madrid last year.
In addition to the Heads of Prosecutor’s Offices in the EU countries, the 15th Annual meeting of NADAL Network was also attended by leaders of Eurojust, Directorate General "Justice and Consumers" of the European Commission and others.
The delegations got acquainted with the functioning of the Court of EU and visited the European Public Prosecutor's Office, based in Luxembourg, where the Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov also spoke with the Bulgarian representative in the institution, Teodora Georgieva.
The Network of Public Prosecutors or equivalent institutions at the Supreme Judicial Courts of the EU Member States (NADAL Network) aims to create a direct connection between the Heads of the Prosecutor’s Offices of EU Member States and to discuss current issues related to cooperation in criminal matters.
The popular name of the NADAL Network is in honor of the former French Prosecutor General Jean-Louis Nadal, on whose initiative the Network was established in Vienna in 2008. Since its creation, NADAL Network has built a successful cooperation between the members of the Network in the spirit of European values and shared goals to combat crime and protect the interests of European citizens.
