Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Borislav Sarafov held a working breakfast with the Ambassadors of Member States of the European Union, the United States of America and the Kingdom of Great Britain.
Deputy Prosecutors General Maria Pavlova and Elena Karakasheva, as well as the Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Chief Commissioner Zhivko Kotsev also took part in the event, which was held at Boyana Residence.
In the presence of the Ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions, the Prosecutor General presented the priorities of the Prosecutor's Office in the criminal policy related to the counteraction of cross-border organized crime, corruption and terrorism. Emphasis was placed on the continuation of the judicial reform and ensuring the rule of law as an important premise for improving and developing the business climate, as well as increasing foreign investment in the country.
The good contacts between the competent Bulgarian institutions and those of the EU Member States, the USA and the UK were highlighted. The participants in the working breakfast expressed their readiness to hold similar meetings in the future in order to establish a direct dialogue between the partners to ensure effective interaction in the field of law enforcement.
