Acting Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov is on a working visit to Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands to take part in the 17th Meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the Member States of the European Union (EU).
Representatives of Eurojust, European Prosecutor’s Office and European Commission will participate in the forum.
A highlight of the meeting’s program is EU legislative initiatives related to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, including the role of Eurojust in this field. An update is expected to be provided on ongoing investigations into war crimes committed in Ukraine.
Challenges to law enforcement authorities in protecting the environment and green transition will be discussed during the forum.
The Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General of the member states of EU has been operating since 2010 within the framework of Eurojust, European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, which aims to coordinate investigations, prosecutions and cooperation between Member States' competent authorities in relation to serious cross-border and/or organised crime.
