Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev is on a visit to the town of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey to participate in the first Pan-European Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors.
The forum is hosted by the Prosecutor General of Turkey, Bekir Şahin. A symbolic occasion for the hosting is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. The theme of the event is "Effective Investigations in the Digital Era". Participants in the conference are the heads of prosecution and investigative authorities from Europe, Central Asia and USA.
The forum will be opened by the Prosecutor General of Turkey, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan and Vice President of the International Association of Prosecutors Kamran Aliyev, Minister of Justice of Turkey Bekir Bozdag and the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation Mehmet Akarca.
The work program focuses on the investigation of various crimes and the challenges to their successful detection in the context of the rise of digitalization worldwide.
