Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev held a working meeting with Robert Singer, Chairman of the Center for Jewish Impact, member of the Board of Anti-Semitism Movement and former Executive -Vice President of the World Jewish Congress and General Shlomi Michael, with a long professional career in Israeli law enforcement.
The Israeli guests expressed special thanks for the active role of Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office for the prevention of anti-democratic events such as the so-called Lukov March in Sofia.
Among the highlights of the conversation were the initiatives of the Prosecutor's Office to curb and prevent hate crimes.
The meeting between Ivan Geshev, Robert Singer and General Shlomi Michael was held in the context of the 80th Anniversary of Rescue of Bulgarian Jews. The Prosecutor General focused on the contribution of Bulgarian legal practitioners to this worthy act. Ivan Geshev briefed the Israeli guests on the initiative of the Association of Prosecutors in Bulgaria and the Chamber of Investigators in Bulgaria for the construction of a monument to the Bulgarian legal practitioners who helped save the Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust, which is to be erected in the center of the Bulgarian capital.
