Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev discussed with a delegation of the Crown Prosecution Service of the United Kingdom the fight against cross-border crime and corruption and the rule of law

Today, November 17, 2022, Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev held a working meeting with Max Hill, Director of the Public Prosecution Service of England and Wales, at the Palace of Justice in Sofia. The meeting was attended by Shenaz Muzaffer, Head of the International Department at the Crown Prosecution Service, H.E. Rob Dixon, UK Ambassador to Bulgaria and Kim Holden, Criminal Justice Advisor at the diplomatic mission.

Both sides noted the traditionally good level of cooperation between the prosecutors' offices of the two countries. The focus of the conversation was on upgrading the partnership between the law enforcement institutions of the Republic of Bulgaria and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in countering cross-border crime and cybercrime, the fight against corruption and terrorism, as well as the rule of law.

The active exchange of information on specific criminal law cases was also discussed.
