PROSECUTORS, SUPERVISING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INVESTIGATIONS, HAVE PARTICIPATED IN A TRAINING WORKSHOP ON "DIGITAL PIRACY AND CYBER THREATS" ORGANIZED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

Thirty prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria have participated in a training seminar on "Digital piracy and Cyber Threats", which took place on July 21 - 22, 2022 in Sofia. The forum was organized by the U.S. Department of Justice and was for magistrates who supervise or have conducted investigations related to intellectual property.

Speakers at the workshop were representatives of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Intellectual Property Division within the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The aim of the training was to enable participants to acquire new knowledge and exchange experience in investigations related to digital piracy and cyber threats. Among the case-studies were those for the seizure of illegally acquired crypto-currencies, as well as cyber-attacks carried out with malicious software. The exchange of good practices also included the topic of neutralizing digital piracy.
