Today, March 17, 2022, the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev and the European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kövesi held a working meeting in the Palace of Justice in Sofia. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prosecutors General Daniela Masheva and Desislava Pironeva. On behalf of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, took part Teodora Georgieva the Bulgarian representative in the European Prosecutor's Office and Milan Jaron – Acting Head of Strategy and Executive Office Unit.
During the conversation, issues concerning the interaction between the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the European Public Prosecutor's Office for combating fraud with EU funds, VAT abuses, money laundering, corruption and organized crime were discussed.
Both sides expressed mutual satisfaction with the good cooperation and what has been achieved so far. Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev expressed his confidence in continuing the effective dialogue between the two institutions.
