The Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev held a working meeting in the European Parliament with Mr Michal Šimečka, Vice-President of the European Parliament and member of the Renew Europe Group.
The conversation emphasized on the protection of rights and freedoms of Bulgarian citizens and especially of disadvantaged people and minority groups. The Prosecutor General assured the European parliamentarian of the Prosecution's commitment to actively prosecute cases related to domestic violence and crimes against the person based on ethnic, religious and gender identity.
The readiness of the Prosecutor's Office to contribute to strengthening the rule of law and European standards in Bulgaria was also discussed during the meeting.
