Today, January 25, 2022, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivan Geshev met with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey Mr Abdulhamit Gül during his official visit to Ankara. The visit is at the invitation of the Turkish Prosecutor General Mr Bekir Şahin. In Turkey, Ivan Geshev was accompanied by Desislava Pironeva, Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Supreme Administrative Prosecutor's Office and Siyka Mileva, Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General.
The Bulgarian Prosecutor General and the Turkish Minister of Justice discussed issues related to criminal law cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the traditionally good interaction between law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey.
The subject of the conversation was also the potential opportunities for optimizing the work process in order to conduct successful cross-border investigations in the fight against crime, ensuring the security of citizens.
