A Bulgarian delegation headed by the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev is on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey. The delegation includes Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Supreme Administrative Prosecutor's Office Desislava Pironeva and Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General Siika Mileva. The official visit is at the invitation of the Turkish Prosecutor General Bekir Sahin.
During the visit, meetings are planned in the Supreme Court and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Turkey. The Bulgarian delegation will also visit the newly opened building of the General Prosecutor's Office in Ankara.
The main focus of the talks between the leaderships of the Prosecutors' Offices of the two neighboring countries will be the continuation of the excellent cooperation in criminal matters, the field of counter-terrorism, as well as the fight against cross-border organized crime and the fight against illegal migration.
The visit is a continuation of the active dialogue between the Prosecutor's Offices of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey, expressed in the establishment of the Balkan Forum of General Prosecutors.
