At the invitation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine - Ms. Iryna Venediktova, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria Ivan Geshev attended in Kiev the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, and Ukrainian prosecutors were greeted by Prime Minister Denis Shmigal and Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. Among the foreign guests on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office are also the general prosecutors of a number of European countries, representatives of the Council of Europe and European institutions, the diplomatic corps in Kiev and other officials.
After the ceremony, Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev took part in an official meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was attended by the country's Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova, as well as Nida Grunskiene - Lithuanian Prosecutor General, Andres Parmas - Estonian Prosecutor General, and Kamran Aliyev Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Ivan Geshev wished health, diligence and success to his Ukrainian colleagues in their mission to uphold stability and justice in the country in the spirit of democratic values and the rule of law.
The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria is in Kiev also for participation in the International Anti-Corruption Forum "Kleptocracy and Illegal Financial Flows".
