Today, May 26, 2021 the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, the Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General Siyka Mileva and the Head of International Department at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office Tsvetomir Yosifov met with the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr Rıdvan Gündoğdu and prosecutors from the General Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal. The bilateral working meeting was held in the Palace of Justice in Sofia. The Turkish delegation is on a visit in Bulgaria on the occasion of their participation in the International Conference - “Protection of the euro in Bulgaria and the countries of South-Eastern Europe and the Balkan region. Achievements and challenges for law enforcement authorities”, which is organized under the project“ General Supervision of Legality in Compliance with the Legislation in the State” financed by the European Commission under the Pericles 2020 Programme.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sofia.
Issues of mutual interest, such as combating illegal migration, the fight against organized crime and international cooperation in criminal matters, were discussed during the talks.
The traditionally good relations and the excellent operational cooperation between the law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey were also emphasized.
