Today, May 26, 2021 the Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev and the Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General held a bilateral working meeting with the State Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Northern Macedonia Ljubomir Joveski and the Administrative Head of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organised Crime and Corruption Vilma Ruskovska, who are on a visit in Bulgaria to participate in the International Conference - “Protection of the Euro in Bulgaria and the Countries of South-Eastern Europe and the Balkan Region. Achievements and Challenges for Law Enforcement Authorities” which is organized under the project “General Supervision of Legality in Compliance with the Legislation in the State” financed by the European Commission under the Pericles 2020 Programme.
In the course of the conversation, both parties discussed issues of mutual interest, the fight against organized crime and cooperation in criminal matters.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of North Macedonia have had a concluded cooperation agreement since 2015, which stipulates strengthening contacts between Bulgarian and Macedonian prosecutors and joint work in all fields of prosecutorial activities.
