On 6th of December 2022, the Prosecutors General of Romania and Bulgaria, Gabriela Scutea and Ivan Geshev had a bilateral meeting after the end of the International Conference STOP HATE SPEECH.
The main topics of the conversation were the powers of the two Prosecutor's Offices in investigation of organized criminal groups and corruption crimes, as well as the measures that each of the two neighboring countries are taking in relation to the current challenges in the region.
Ivan Geshev expressed special gratitude to Gabriela Scutea for her assistance in the quick transfer of the buses with wives and children of Ukrainian prosecutors and judicial officials from Odessa and the region, who in March 2022 were accommodated at the base of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev and his Romanian colleague Gabriela Scutea also noted the positive effect of the working mechanism for exchanging information including on specific investigations in criminal law cooperation.
