Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev met with the Chairman of the Group of the European People's Party in the European Parliament, Manfred Weber. The meeting is part of the working visit of the Prosecutor General to Brussels.
Ivan Geshev highlighted the leading role of the Prosecutor's Office in the country's progress in countering organized crime and corruption, as well as in promoting the rule of law and European values.
The Prosecutor General stressed the commitment of the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office to uphold the independence of the judiciary and the readiness of the structure to continue the reform of the justice system to ensure the protection of the rule of law and the rights of citizens in the country.
