Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SCPO) brought a final accusation against B.S., submitting an indictment against him to the court for crimes under Art. 325, paragraph 2, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Аrt. 20, para. 2, in conjunction with paragraph 1of the Penal Code and under Art. 131, paragraph 1, item 12, in conjunction with Art. 130, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code.
According to the evidence gathered in the case, on October 30, 2021, at around 5:30 pm, the accused B.S. together with a group of persons - men and women, not identified in the case, broke into the office of “R. Ts. B.” foundation on Knyaz Aleksandar Dondukov Boulevard in Sofia where a meeting on Support of Transgender People was organized. The accused B.S. struck a blow with his hand in the face of a woman who was in the office and along with unidentified persons demolished shelves, broke things, sprayed walls and desks, and then the accused B.S. and the unidentified persons left the Foundation's office.
The supervising prosecutor considered that the hooliganism for which BS had been charged was extremely daring.
The pre-trial proceedings were initiated at V Regional Police Office - Capital Directorate of Interior under the supervision of SCPO and were subsequently sent under the competence of SCPO in view of the fact that B.S. was an independent presidential candidate in the elections scheduled for 14.11.2021 The investigation was assigned to investigating magistrate from the Investigation Department within SCPO.
Following the permission of the Central Election Commission, provided upon a reasoned request of the Prosecutor General following a proposal by the supervising prosecutor at SCPO, an accusation against B.S. was brought on November 3, 2021 by an investigating magistrate from the Investigative Department within SCPO in the presence of an ex officio defender.
In the course of investigation the scene of a crime was inspected, traces were seized, material evidence was attached, numerous witnesses were interrogated as well several identifications were made, two computer-technical examinations and forensic and assessment expertise were prepared and a number of other written evidence were attached.
The accused B.S. is a Bulgarian citizen, with а higher education, not convicted.
A guarantee restraint measure was taken against him, payable in cash, in the amount of BGN 5,000, which was paid.
A pretrial hearing on the case is to be scheduled by e Sofia City Court.
The investigation continues in relation to the persons not identified in the case.
