A working meeting between representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and OSCE was held in respect to the upcoming elections for President and Vice President and for National Assembly

Today, 10th November 2021, Deputy Prosecutor General Daniela Masheva, the Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General Siyka Mileva, Prosecutor Vanya Stefanova, Head of Department at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office, and Prosecutor Klementina Palicheva held a working meeting with representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe mission (OSCE) - Marcell Nagy - Deputy Head of Mission, Enira Bronitskaya - Legal Analyst, Ilina Dyakova - Assistant Legal Analyst, in respect to the elections for President and Vice President and for the National Assembly, scheduled for 14th November 2021.

At the meeting were discussed topics about the measures taken by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria for compliance the law during the elections and its commitment for active cooperation between the institutions in order to ensure a fair and transparent vote.

In the course of the meeting the OSCE representatives were informed about the establishment of a National Interdepartmental Unit, which includes the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the State Agency for National Security. They were also acquainted with the number of initiated pre-trial proceedings and files related to violations of the political rights of citizens, as well as with the number of requests submitted to the Central Election Commission for waving immunity of one presidential candidate and two candidates for members of parliament about crimes of a general nature.
