Representatives of the National Investigation Service and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office took part in a training on "Special Investigation Techniques" with the participation of US federal prosecutors

On February 8 2021was organized а training on "Special Investigation Techniques“  by the US Department of Justice. The workshop was designed for Bulgarian and Romanian prosecutors and investigators and aimed to increase the capacity of participants in the use of special investigative techniques such as: the use of tracking devices (GPS); eavesdropping systems; networks of informants; protected witnesses; eavesdropping devices and other techniques used for prevention of organized crime.

The lecturers of the training were federal prosecutors from the USA.

On the Bulgarian side took part magistrates from the National Investigation Service /NIS/ and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office. The Participants from NIS were investigators from the Computer Crimes and Electronic Evidence Collection group - Ivaylo Angelov, Svetoslav Vassilev, Elena Dineva, Maria Pavlova, Albena Gonkova and Chavdar Angelov.

From the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office - Valentina Madjarova, Nelly Todorova, Angel Kanev, Danail Shostak, Galya Nikolova-Strasser and Kaloyan Kirov took part.

During the training were highlighted the benefits of interagency cooperation and teamwork. The workshop was moderated by Ms. Jessica Kim - US Department of Justice's Resident Legal Advisor for Bulgaria and Romania.
