The inspection in the land of the village of Ruptsi was completed; the discovered buried hazardous waste is 210 tons

The investigation on the buried hazardous waste, discovered in the land of the village of Ruptsi, municipality of Cherven bryag has been completed. It was found out that 210 tons of hazardous waste were buried in silage pits in the land of the village, which is not subject to further recycling. The waste was handed over for storage by a company from the Monbat group to another company that does not have the necessary facilities for the recovery of hazardous waste and it was buried in the land of the village of Ruptsi.

The investigative acts related to the pre-trial proceedings initiated by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for an organized criminal group established for profit, with the participation of officials, on which the accused are At. B., Pl. B., Kr. Zh., former Deputy Minister of Environment and Water and other officials from various companies.

In July 2020, within the same pre-trial proceedings, hundreds of tons of hazardous waste were found and excavated in the Lakata area near Cherven Bryag.

The investigation is going on. An additional inspection of sites and premises located in the industrial area in the city of Pleven is to be carried out, in which huge quantities of hazardous waste, subject to investigation in the same case, have also been found.
