The Specialized Criminal Court imposed a sentence of 2 years imprisonment with 4 years of probation for the former parliament member from GERB Zhivko Martinov.
He was found guilty that during the period February-November 2011, in order to obtain a benefit for himself, he forced, through threats, the businessman A.T. to provide him against his will a ton of raw sudzhuk (a crime under Art. 214, paragraph 2).
The court changed the measure of restraint of the defendant from "Money bail" to "Subscription" and upheld the ban imposed on him to leave the country.
The sentence is not final and can be appealed and protested in front the Appellate Specialized Criminal Court.
